COUCHER is a glass pedestal for macarons designed by Saki Maeda, who is the winner of the design competition held by Pierre Hermé Paris and SGHR Sugahara for a glassware for macarons. Coucher means "squeeze" in French pastry making and Ms. Maeda explains that she named her work after the process of macaron making as well as the cushion-like silhouette with the pattern that looks like gathers of a gorgeous dress. Mr. Richard Ledu, CEO of PH Paris Japon, and Executive Chef Christophe Drapier say “Ms. Maeda’s COUCHER reminded us a pedestal that a crown solemnly sits on. Pedestal is a cushion to place something very important on. To us, macarons are very important so we thought this is perfect. It’s a stunning piece that has both detailed decorations and voluminousness. This item is available exclusively at our online store.
Our glassware is individually handcrafted by our artisans and each piece is one of a kind. The item you receive may look slightly different from what you see online. A few small bubbles or lines may occur due to the nature of the material.
